The GLOBALTRANS International Logistics Agency arranges all kinds of cargo shipping by sea. The broad experience and professionalism of our staff and flexible pricing policy allow the company to hold a strong position in the market of cargo transfer services.
Shipping by sea is a cheap, reliable and practical way of delivery. Sometimes it is the only way to transport the goods if there is a water barrier between the destination and the dispatch point. Transportation of goods by sea is an excellent alternative for air transfer. Of course, air transportation is much faster, but not always beneficial due to its high cost.
Cargo transportation by sea is affordable for all companies. There are several ways of transportation by vessels:
- Container shipping is the most affordable and popular. By containers, any goods can be transported: perishable, liquid, granular, modular, etc. Using of containers can significantly reduce the time for loading and discharge, they are convenient both for a consignee and a consignor.
- Transportation by ro-ro method. This way a delivery of goods such as appliances, cars, etc. is effected: these are the goods that can be loaded “under their own power” (roll-on). Such a way of transfer is only available to companies that need to transport very large quantities of goods, as transporting of a small amount of appliances this way is economically inefficient.
- Bulk transportation of goods by sea is used while moving bulk materials: coal, cement, fertilizer, sand, etc. This kind of international sea shipping is beneficial only for fully loaded ships.
- Also, for transportation of petroleum, energy companies use special vessels - tankers - adapted for the transfer of liquid cargo.
Sea shipments can be divided into two types:
- short sea - a transfer by sea at short distances;
- deep sea - ocean freight (from one mainland to another).
As a rule, delivery of goods by sea is carried out with the involvement of additional modes of transport: rail or road (multimodal sea transportation).
